Alvin Francis Easthouse3/3/1917-7/27/2013Resident of San JoseAl Easthouse, age 96, passed away July 27th at his home in San Jose. He was born in Kadoka, South Dakota. He married Berniece Oleta Browder on August 1st, 1937. She preceded him in death on March 8, 2007. Al was a developer, builder and construction manager in Santa Clara County for 42 years and retired in 1982.Al was very active in helping counsel and sponsor hundreds of individuals seeking a sober way of life. He celebrated 62 years of continuous sobriety on July 22, 2013. He was a living example and held to high esteem and inspiration by thousands of program members in the United States.Al's passions were: wood working in his shop (early years), times with his family, playing cards, counseling people, Sunday family barbeques, Croquet in his back yard, talking about his 'thinger' and laughing heartily at Mom's off color jokes. Dad was a positive thinker, his glass was ALWAYS half full.Al is survived by sons Vern Easthouse, Gary Easthouse and Randy Easthouse, daughters Laura Easthouse and Deborah Rae Easthouse (dec may, 1960). Al & Berniece have 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A private family service will be held at Chapel of the Flowers in San Jose on August 10th. A 'Celebration of Life' will be held on August 24th at Jubilee Christian Center, 105 Nortech Parkway in San Jose at 1:00 with reception to follow. All you 'ding dongs' should show up early.
