Amelia "emily" Martinez

Amelia "Emily" Martinez Born December 27, 1929 in Holtville, California to Miguel "Mike" and Catalina Trujillo Sotelo died peacefully on March 22, 2009 in San Jose, CA where the family moved to some 35 years ago. As a devoted mother and home maker she raised eight children and volunteered tirelessly at her children's elementary school and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and had an outgoing personality which she used to make friends instantly. She is survived by her son's Jose A. Martinez, Frank Acevedo, Alex Acevedo, Gloria Trinada Chijlowski, Jenny Gracia, John David Acevedo and Ruben Acevedo. Sister's Antonia Horta and Nettie Verar and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first late Husband John Acevedo and later by her second late Husband Jose Antonio Martinez Senior, son's Paul S. Acevedo and Raul Acevedo. Family expresses deepest gratitude to Odysseys Hospice and Willow Glen Convalescence Hospital for the staff and volunteers that assisted her in these last few months. Friends are invited to attend a visitation from 3- 9pm on Thurs at Chapel of Flowers, 900 So 2nd Street, San Jose. Vigil service at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Friday at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 2020 E. San Antonio, San Jose.
