Andrew Franklin Daniels went home to be with his Lord and Savior on
April 23, 2023, at the age of 50, in Stanford Health Care, Palo Alto, California.
Andrew was born in Valparaiso, Indiana to Andrew and Crettie J. Daniels.
He graduated from Crown Point High School and immediately joined the US
ARMY After his honorable discharge from the U.S. ARMY, he pursued his
degree in Criminal Justice, Political Science at Indiana University
Bloomington. And worked as an Operational Specialist at Indiana University
Bloomington. Andrew also worked as a Systems & Operations Engineer at
Kemper Lake Zurich, Illinois.


Drew moved to California in 1998 and worked as a Sr. Network & Operations
Engineer/Architect at Taos. He also worked as Sr. E-Commerce Architect at
UsWeb/CKS 1999. He then worked as director of Security/Chief operation
Architect at NetSuite (NetLedger) until 2001. He became Director of Security
Services & Architecture at ConXion until 2003. In 2003 he became Principal
Security Architect at Oracle Corporation until 2005. He also worked at
Shutterfly, Inc. as Head of Information Security/Chief Security Architect
until 2008. He joined Microsoft as Senior Member of Technical Staff until
2012. He worked as Head of Security, Compliance and Privacy Officer (CISO)
at ClearSlide, Inc. until 2016. He joined Qubole as their Chief Security Officer
(CSO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) until 2020. He also worked at
Druva as Chief Security Officer (CIO) and Chief Security Information Officer
(CISO) until 2021. His current role was as VP/Chief Information Security
Officer at Secureframe. He joined the Silicon Valley CISO Investment (SVCI)
Angel Investor and was an active member of the Silicon Valley Chapter
Information Systems Security Association (ISSA). At many of those places he
was not only a champion for good security but added to the culture of the
companies as well.

Drew was a twice published author. He loved traveling, photography,
watching movies, listening to music, making BBQ, and playing poker.
He loved the Chicago Bears and taking trips to Hawaii. He relaxed
watching reruns of his favorite tv shows. After a busy day, he would
occasionally “Splurge” at Su’s BBQ, DishDash, Kabul Afghan Cuisine,
or Burger King. He loved it when friends would come over to the
house.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Daniels, whom he met on December 28,
2008. Ten months later Andrew being completely smitten, he married Eva on October 8, 2009.

He was a loving husband, son in-law, brother-in-law, nephew, and cousin.

He will be forever remembered by his nieces and nephews and all his friends in the tech industry.
Andrew was a beautiful person inside and out. He cared so deeply for
the people around him. He was kind and passionate. He made an
impact on many lives. Drew was a man of less words and more
actions. He lived every moment of his life with great command and
with utmost positivity. He will be deeply missed, and his legacy will
live on through his family and the memories we all shared together.
His Kindness, Generosity and love will never be forgotten. May He
Rest in Everlasting Peace.
