UntitledArthur Coe Saxton, Jr.68, of Campbell, died Monday, September 18, 2006 at his residence.A memorial service will be held at the New Community of Faith Church in Campbell at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2006.Inurnment is planned at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Gustine, CA.Saxton was born October 3, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Arthur Coe Saxton, Sr., and Adelia Eva Mizer. He attended high school and graduated from Bowling Green University with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics.His parents preceded him in death. Saxton is survived by his best friend, Lorrain Wilson; as well as cousins Edward H. Saxton of North Canton, Ohio; Harlan F. Saxton of Rocky River, Ohio, Judith S. Ebbert of Plantation, Florida, Carolyn S. Prentice of Loudon, Tennessee, Kimberly Saxton of Vermillion, Ohio, Maria J. Roche of Carthage, NY, Col. (Ret.) Ward M. Miller of Fredericksburg, TX and Howard M. Miller of Clyde, North Carolina.Saxton served over 4 years in the US Air Force from April 1965 through September 1969 being discharged as a Captain. He served in the Vietnam War from December 1967 to December 1968 as an aircraft maintenance officer with the famed 555th Tactical Fighter Squadron in Thailand.His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorous Service, two Presidential Unit Citations, the Air Force outstanding unit award with Combat "V" device, and the Cross of Gallantry with Palm.Over the past twenty years Saxton was involved with International Export Shipping on the West Coast. For many years he maintained and flew his own airplane and had a great interest in motorcycles, restoring antique guns and in playing the electric piano.Memorials may be made to the New Community of Faith Church.Arrangements under the direction of Chapel of Flowers, San Jose.
