Bertha M Villegas

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Bertha on October 5th, 2023, in Stockton, CA. Surrounded by her loving family, she fought her illness with unwavering strength and courage until the end. Born on June 26, 1952, in Bakersfield, CA to Consuelo and Florentino Villegas, Bertha was the third oldest of eleven siblings.

Bertha spent her formative years in Hayward, CA and called the Bay Area home for most of her life. She is now rejoined with her late husband Samuel Velasquez, who she loved deeply. Bertha leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion as she is survived by her five children - Santia, Angela, Terri, Samuel, and Alejandro. She was a cherished grandmother to fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

A true matriarch, Bertha dedicated her entire life to her family. Her role as a grandmother brought immeasurable joy to her heart and she treasured every moment spent with them. Known for her kind and affable nature, she had a way of making everyone feel loved and welcomed.

Bertha's many talents brought joy to those around her. An excellent cook who delighted in sharing delicious meals with loved ones, she had a passion for dance that radiated through every step she took. She found solace in artistry - whether it be painting or fulfilling crossword puzzles - as well as expressing herself through various craft projects.

The void left by Bertha's departure is immeasurable; however, her family takes solace in knowing that they will one day be reunited with this remarkable woman who touched their lives deeply. Let us remember Bertha for the love she shared, the memories she created, and the enduring legacy of kindness she leaves behind. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
