Betty GassmannFeb. 28, 1932 - Nov. 17, 2015Resident of San JoseBetty Ellen Hall was born in San Jose, California to Minnie Yeager and Homer Hall. She grew up across the street from the Winchester Mystery House, where she and her classmates would play in the garden after school. After graduating from Campbell High School she married Lucien Gassmann, and they had seven children together. Betty owned and operated a flower shop in downtown Willow Glen while her children grew up. Betty belonged to the Red Hat Society, Eastern Star and Planter Box Flower Club. Through these organizations she created many lifelong friendships. Betty was a kind and trusting woman who would often go out of her way to help others.Betty traveled the world and had fond memories of all the places she visited. She was especially fond of taking her 11 grandchildren to Santa Cruz. She would also take them to various attractions and eateries around the South Bay Area, including places like Happy Hollow, the Santa Clara County Fair, Great America and La Villa delicatessen in Willow Glen, where they would celebrate just about everything.Betty is survived by her seven children, Ruth, Nick, Victor, Dawn, Carl, Michelle, Dorothy, eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
