Bill Kazumi Ishida

Bill Kazumi Ishida May 1, 1917-August 31, 2005 Bill K. Ishida was born and raised on his parents' farm in Sacramento, CA. During WWII he served with the famed 442nd combat team comprised of Japanese-Americans. Disabled by his wounds, he received the purple heart. He was active in the Disabled American Vets for many years, eventually serving as Regional Commander of Chapters 5 and 11. After the war he worked for the I.R.S., retiring after 34 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jisanta and Hisayo; brothers Sam, Shig and Mas; and sister Chiz. He is survived by his wife Mary of 59 years; children Karole (John McBain), Mary Jane (Jerry Putz) and Ron; and sisters Katherine, Emi and Masako. Funeral services will be private. Donations can be made in his name to: D.A.V. Chapter 11, Attn: Rehabilitation, 1038 Edenbury Lane, San Jose, CA 95136. Arrangements under the direction of Chapel of Flowers, San Jose, CA.
