Carmen Hewald

Carmen Hewald Born 8/4/1914 in Manila, Philippine Islands where she endured the ravages of WWII before she, her husband and children immigrated to San Francisco, Calif. in 1945 where they lived for 7 years before settling in San Jose for 53 years. A loving and devoted wife to Anthony Hewald for 63 yrs., the most wonderful mother to Virginia, William, Sylvia, Marie, Jeanette, and Barbara, and loving grandmother to 22 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She always had a welcoming home for her large family of brothers, sisters, in-laws, cousins, nephews, and nieces and prided herself on having family gatherings. She will be remembered for her warm, generous, loving, welcoming heart and great cooking. Forever be her memory. God Bless You. Visitation 4 p.m. - 9 p.m.. Vigil Service 6:30 p.m. on Wed. Dec. 28th at Chapel of Flowers, 900 S. 2nd St., San Jose. Mass at 10 a.m., Dec. 29th at Holy Cross Church.
