Charles Luis Lang

LANG, Charles Luis-- age 87, of San Jose, California. Died on September 19, 2002. Mr. Lang died on Thursday, at the Emmanuel Convalescent Hospital where he had resided for several years. Mr. Lang was a native of Maquoketa, Iowa. He had lived in San Jose for 50 years, and previously lived in Illinois.Charles Luis Lang was born on December 17, 1914 in Maquoketa, Iowa of Jackson County. The son of Beulah Harrison, born in Miles, Iowa and Ralph Bernard Lang, born in Tipton, Iowa. The grandson of Mary Ann Marquardt and Charles Lang Sr., of Tipton, Iowa, in Cedar County. Charles L. Lang married Margaret Anna Jebsen of Welton, Iowa, on September 26, 1933 in Savanna, Illinois. He was a butcher, as was his father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Bernard Lang, who Immigrant from Temmels, Germany in 1856.Mr. Lang is survived by four children, Richard Lang of Watsonville, CA; Robert Lang of San Jose, CA; Sharol Lang of Los Gatos, CA and Bonnie Lang of Modesto, California. Two brothers, Donn Harrison Lang of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Ralph Junior Lang of Chicago, Illinois, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Charles L. Lang was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Pauline Grace Lang of Maquoketa, IA, Marion Verda Lang of Maquoketa, IA; and Harriet Lang/Lady of Maquoketa, Iowa.Mr. Lang's date of Cremation was on September 24, 2002, Chapel of Flowers, San Jose, California. Place of Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa.
