Dora M. RiveraJune 28, 1926 - May 20, 2018San JoseDora Maestas Rivera, age 91, of San Jose, CA passed away peacefully on May 20, 2018. She was born June 28, 1926, just outside of Salt Lake City, UT and grew up in New Mexico before settling in San Jose, CA with her family. She was one of 10 siblings born to the late Lee and Anita Maestas. She was known as Dodie to all who knew and loved her. Dodie attended West Valley College, where she obtained her Associate of Arts degree. Throughout the years, she created numerous paintings and drawings for which she won many awards. On November 19, 1950, she married the love of her life, Dr. Michael Anthony Rivera, who passed away in 2015. They were active members in Club Fiesta for many years, and together they loved to entertain frequently at their home. They attended Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Almaden Valley. Above all, she was devoted to her family whom she would always put first. Dodie is survived by her three children; daughter Priscilla (Robert) Cramer, daughter Norma (Jim Flam) Rivera, and son Robert (Shari) Rivera. She is also survived by her grandchildren Lori Cramer Lasky, Rea Cramer Pifferini, Myles Rivera-Flam, Michael Rivera, Savannah Rivera and her great grandchildren Isabella, Kelly and Alexandra. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.A viewing will be on Thursday evening May 31, 2018 at 7:00 pm. Chapel of Flowers May 31, 2018 and a church service at Holy Spirit Church on Friday June 1, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery.
