Eileen Kelly

Eileen Kelly 1922 - 2009 Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Feb. 23, 2009. She was a devoted wife of 56 years to Eugene J. Kelly, who died in 2002. Eileen is preceded in death by mother Mary Wright and siblings Maida Kaiser and Carlton Wright. Eileen is survived by her children Sharon Grover (Robert), Kristina Cunningham, Theresa Warren (Christopher), Kathleen Puffer (Steven), Eugene Kelly (Cindy), and Gary Cunningham. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters. Eileen was born in Ridgely, W. Va. and settled in San Jose in 1945. Two years later she married Eugene Kelly, and together they shared a full life. Eileen enjoyed volunteering in children's schools: St. Lucy, St. Christopher, Sacred Heart, St. Mary, Presentation, and Bellarmine. Eileen and Eugene traveled extensively and lived in Haiti for two memorable years. Eileen loved gardening and singing in the St. Christopher choir. Her primary passion, however, was to nurture her family in hopes that they would have a good life. She was a lovable blend of June Cleaver and Lucille Ball. Rosary will be held at Chapel of Flowers, 900 S. Second St., San Jose 95112, at 7pm on Thursday and a Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Friday at St. Christopher Church, 2278 Booksin Ave., San Jose 95125. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Presentation High School or Sacred Heart Community Center.
