Ellard Raoul Gann

GANN, Ellard Raoul -- Passed away peacefully in his home in San Jose, CA on Saturday, July 19, 2003 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in San Francisco 69 years ago to Millard and Elsie Gann. Ellard spent his youth playing in the hills of Saratoga, boating on Clear Lake and going to summer camp in Pinecrest. Ellard owned Conquest Carpet Cleaning and developed Abstraction VLM, a carpet dry cleaning method. He was an accomplished photographer and enjoyed going to art and wine festivals, visiting old buildings, and strolling about outdoors to find subjects for his photos. Life took on a new meaning for him almost 20 years ago, and with the help of Alcoholics Anonymous, he had maintained his sobriety for that length of time. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, but especially by those who survive him: his loving finance, Roberta Holloter, and devoted children: Steven, Victoria, William, Joseph, Christopher and foster child - Liz Martinez. Also his daughter-in-laws: Merry, Margo, Angie and Sherry and many grandchildren: Jacquline, Joey, Tina, Zachary, Rico, Eric, Tyler, Destynee, Geena, Seamus, Thomas, Danika, Serena and Samantha. A Memorial Service will be held 6:00 p.m. , August 1st at CHAPEL OF FLOWERS, 900 S. Second Street, San Jose. Please consider, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the American Cancer Society.
