Eugene Joseph Melatti

Eugene Joseph Melatti entered into rest peacefully on Monday, August 14^{th 2023}.  

Born in 1932 and raised in San Jose, CA, Eugene was a second generation Italian whose parents, Antonio Melatti (Father), and Argentina Melatti (mother), moved from Pescara, Italy in the early 1900’s. 

 

Eugene was a Veteran of the Korean War in the early 50’s. 

 

Eugene married Barbara (D’Angelo) Melatti in September of 1958 and the two lived a lifetime of love for 64 years, a month shy of 65 years. 

 

Eugene was a milkman for his entire career at Carnation Dairies for over 30 years, delivering milk to homes and businesses throughout the Santa Clara Valley. 

 

Eugene (and Barbara) created a wonderful family and is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Melatti, 3 daughters: Chris Melatti, Karen Taylor, and Kathleen Frank (Monty Frank) who all reside in the Bay Area with the grandchildren: Al Cancilla, Jennifer Melatti, (Christopher Elmore), Amanda Taylor, Dylan Taylor, Melissa Frank and Brianna Frank, and a great granddaughter Ellie Rose.  He is also survived by his sister: Gloria Barone (Jack Barone) and his late siblings: Ralph Melatti (brother) and Evelyn Della-Russo (sister).  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  

 

Eugene was a family man, a dedicated husband and father, and a very special friend to many.  He had a shining personality to everyone who was fortunate to know him.  His sense of humor was exceptional and will be carried down for generations to come.  Eugene lived a long life of 90 years.  A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later time.
