Frank J. DeWittResident of San Jose A native Californian, born in Gilroy in 1920 he grew up & lived his life in San Jose. While he had many adventures along the way nothing defined Frank more than his time served in Europe during WWII. Frank joined the Army becoming a Screaming Eagle, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, in the 101st Airborne Division. Highly decorated for his valor Frank was awarded the Purple Heart & Bronze Star, having fought at Normandy Beach in France, and the Battle of the Bulge. After he returned home he went to work at the Ford Motor plant until he retired. A tireless volunteer for Veteran's Affairs, he was Chapter President of the Society of the Purple Heart. You would often see him walking the corridors of the Veteran's Hospital telling jokes making everyone laugh. He will be fondly remembered by family and friends.Frank is survived by his wife of 52 years Pat, his stepchildren Virginia and Robert; grandchildren Michael, Annette, Jennifer, Christine, George, Lisa, Greg, Steve and Debbie; great-grandchildren Jeffrey, Kristen, Monique, Jim, Emily, Kathleen, Akailin, Hunter and MadisonA Rosary will be held on Sunday, Nov 21 5PM Chapel of the Flowers 900 S. 2nd Street San Jose, Mass on Monday, Nov 22nd at 11Am St. John Vianney 4600 Hyland Avenue San Jose.
