MATTHEWS, Georgia Evelyn-- 80, born August 13, 1922 in Blacksburg, S.C. Entered into rest January 9, 2003. Devoted wife of 48 years to the late Richard E. Matthews. Beloved mother to Elaine Williams of Campbell, Sandra Haase of San Jose, Ruth Bourdon of Redding, Nancy Cowlishaw of Pocatello, Idaho, and Kate Matthews of Redding. Much loved grandmother of 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.Friends are invited to attend visitation Thursday, January 16, from 2 - 9 p.m. and services Friday, January 17, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. both at the CHAPEL OF FLOWERS, 900 S. 2nd Street, San Jose, CA. Interment will follow at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, CA.Across the years I have walked with you - in deep, green forests, on shores of sand and when our time on earth is through, in heaven, too, you will have my hand.
