Harold Arthur Hall

Harold Arthur HallMay 13, 1938 - Dec. 9, 2014San JoseHarold Arthur Hall went "home" on December 9, 2014. Hal was born in Chicago, IL May 13, 1938 to Wendell Gladstone Hall and Margaret Elizabeth Asplund Hall. He was an only child. Hal obtained his Electronic Engineering AA degree from San Jose City College and served in the Coast Guard Reserves for eight years. He was one year shy of obtaining his Bachelor's degree in broadcasting from San Francisco State. He did, however, work in radio broadcasting for Family Stations, Inc. for 41 years and for several years with his own small production facility. He loved what he did and felt that God had called him to that vocation. He was a charter member of Hillside Church (San Jose Evangelical Free Church). He felt the local church body was very important and did some teaching in the adult classes as well as serving on the Elder Board. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marjorie Alice Neff Hall (Marj), his son and daughter-in-law Steven Arthur and Bobbi Lynn Mott Hall, his daughter Nancy Ruth Hall Bevans, his son and daughter-in-law Roger Alan and Terri Lynn Ketcher Hall and his son and daughter-in-law Daniel Craig and Mary Elizabeth Marcott Hall (Mary Beth). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Father and one granddaughter.Hal loved his grandchildren and in his earlier years enjoyed reading to them. He actually recorded several children's books for them. He was very proud of them and was, at times, amazed that as an only child God had blessed him with so many grandchildren. Hal loved God's word and was especially drawn to any article or discussion concerning the reliability of the Bible.A Memorial Service is being planned for January 17, 2015 at 2 pm at Hillside Church, 545 Hillsdale Avenue, San Jose, CA (408-269-4782)
