Hector EsparzaSan JoseHector Esparza Sr., a San Jose resident since 1949, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017. Born on November 2, 1929 to Paula Esparza in Zacatecas, Mexico, Hector moved to California as a young adult and in 1952 he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served in the Korean War. Following his military career, he became a welder for Westinghouse where he would retire with over 36 years experience.Hector was a strong and dedicated man who took great pride in hard work through his careers and his daily life. He would always be found busying himself with house projects or working in his yard. Hector was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Frances. He is survived by his son, Hector (Cheri) Esparza; daughters, Teresa (Jay) Taylor, Elizabeth Esparza; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 3-8 PM at Chapel of Flowers, 900 South 2nd St. in San Jose. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, April 25th, 2017 at 9:30 AM at Chapel of Flowers followed by a graveside service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery at 11 AM. View the online memorial for Hector Esparza
