ANGULO, Jose Trinidad -- 89 years old. Born in the land of Mariachi and the Agave plant of Atotonilco, Jalisco, Mexico. He was the eldest of seven. His parents suffered economic hardship during the "Christian Revolution' that ravaged Mexico in the late 1920's. On his own he set out, at the young age of 15, to Mexico City to secure employment in order to help his family survive. He succeeded and remained there working and studying to be an engineer. WWII severely impacted the Mexican economy. He was laid off from General Electric, no longer able to afford his college studies. A few years later he married an American citizen and together they immigrated to America. He was 35 years old. The Angulo family slowly made their way to Santa Clara County arriving here in 1957 with six children. Jose Trinidad worked many jobs, from farmworker to bus cleaner to janitor. He remained determined to learn English and secure better employment. He studied real estate and at the age of 52 passed the State Real Estate Exam. He worked as an Agent for various brokers in the San Jose area for a span of 23 years. He was a leader and pioneer in the Latino community spending 25 years as President of Projects Mexico, a non profit organization that built vocational schools and provided scholarships to needy youth. He was active in the redevelopment efforts in the Gardner/Alma neighborhoods of San Jose, resulting in the creation of the Gardner-Alma neighborhood Community Centers and the establishment of the 'Biblioteca Latino Americana.' He was a loving father to 10 children and 26 grandchildren. A loving husband to his wife Elvira of 55 years. He is survived by her and their children, Teresa, Carlos, Carmen, Jose Jr., Enrique, Lupe, Lita, Susie, Luis & Salvador. The Memorial Services and Celebration of Jose's long life will be held starting with visitation on Sunday at CHAPEL OF FLOWERS, 900 S. 2nd Street, San Jose. A Vigil service will be held Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Lucy's Church, in Campbell, CA.
