Schiavo 11-25-1942 - 11-28-2006Lifelong resident of Santa Clara and San Jose is survived by his son Glenn, daughter-in-law Summer, daughter Dawn, former wife Randi, sister Janice, brother-in-law Frank, brother Frank R., father Frank G., stepmother Joyce, nephew Darth, nieces Giana and Deja.A supportive friend to hundreds, Karl enjoyed conversations while hiking in Alum Rock Park. He felt that it was the perfect venue for relaxing, sharing, and solving problems.Karl earned his masters degree in Environmental Studies at SJSU. He showed his love for nature in many ways by pruning hundreds of fruit trees for family and friends and working at the Prusch Farm Park Foundation, doing whatever it took to improve the landscape. He obtained a donation of 300 trees, which he helped plant as a gift to future visitors. Karl also took pride in giving blood, achieving a total of 17 gallons during his lifetime.Viewing will be Saturday, December 2 from 3pm to 5pm, followed by a sharing of memories at Chapel of Flowers located at 900 South 2nd St. in San Jose. Instead of flowers, the family requests that trees be planted in his memory.
