Lamberto PagliaroliOct. 15,1925 - Oct 28, 2018Resident of San JoseLamberto Pagliaroli passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday afternoon, October 28, 2018, in San Jose, California. Born on October 15, 1925, he had just celebrated his 93rd birthday. He was the youngest of four children born to Silvino and Teresa Pagliaroli.From his childhood in the coastal town of Terracina, Italy, Lamberto emigrated to Toronto, Canada and wed Velia Pagliaroli on May 5, 1956. They were married for 62 years and were blessed with one daughter, three grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.He received his Canadian Citizenship on June 13, 1961. Shortly thereafter, having emigrated to San Jose, CA in September of 1968, he received his US Citizenship with 47 other naturalized citizens who came from 21 nations, on May 12, 1975.While in Toronto, Lamberto was a member Laborer's International Union of North America Local No. 506, Labourers Union Construction Division in Canada. He then became a member of the Hod Carriers Local No 166 when residing in SJ, California. In January 2016, when this union was revoked, his membership transferred into an affiliated Local Union of the Laborer's International Union of North America (LiUNA). He had been a Gold Member since 1961.Throughout his life he held strong to his Italian roots, and was always very proud of where he came from. Lamberto (known to his grandchildren as "Nonno") will be remembered as a kind, soft-spoken man who enjoyed telling stories about his life in Italy. In his retirement years, he enjoyed watching soccer on TV, walking his neighborhood, tending to his garden, and spending time with his grandchildren or with friends at the Labor Union. He leaves behind his wife, Velia, their daughter Arlene E. Peterson, grandchildren Andrew C. Peterson (and wife Tan), Christopher A. Peterson (and wife Christine), and Laura L. Peterson, and great-granddaughter Charlotte S. Peterson as well as many nieces and nephews in California, Canada, and Italy.A Rosary Vigil will be held on Thursday, November 8 at the Chapel of Flowers, 900 South 2nd Street, San Jose, CA from 5-7pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 11AM on Friday, November 9th at Holy Family Church, located at 4848 Pearl Ave, San Jose, CA 95136, followed by internment at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
