Lauro GarzaDec. 6, 1923 - Feb. 19, 2014Resident of San JoseBorn in Del Rio, TX. Son of Francisco & Carolina Garza. Lauro is survived by his sisters, Belia, Viola and Berta, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. he enlisted in the navy during WWII. His ship was hit by 4 kamikaze planes. Lauro had many interesting occupations as he tried to help his family during the depression. He worked construction, was a member of the cement masons for 42 years. He never married and lived his life his way. he was independent and was often seen riding his scooter and taking the bus whenever he wanted until his final illness. Viewing and Rosary to be held Tues 6:00pm 2/25 at Chapel of Flowers. Funeral Mass ST. Francis of Assisi Church 11am Wed 2/26. He was a very generous man never keeping gifts, in lieu of flowers, please donate to Catholic Charities.
