Loraine Ruth GruenNov. 11, 1911-Sept. 23, 2014Resident of San JoseLoraine Gruen was born on Nov 11, 1911 in Lehighton, PA, to Leo Carl and Clair Manet Gruneberg. She was the second of seven children.Loraine was a graduate of Smith College and studied French at the Sorbonne in Paris. She lived in NYC following college and worked as an editor for the United Nations and Scientific American. She was also a dancer, model, and fashionista.Loraine became a member of the Rosicrucian Order in 1964 and moved to San Jose in 1965 to work at the world headquarters as an executive secretary and editor. She embraced a holistic approach to life and nurtured her mind, body, and soul through meditation, a vegetarian diet, regular exercise, and spiritual growth. She was an inspiration to many.A temple ceremony open to non-members will be held on Sun, Nov 16 at 3 pm at the Rosicrucian Order, 1342 Naglee Ave, San Jose. A reception will follow at the Church of the Valley, Fireside Room, 400 N Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara at 4 pm.
