UntitledLucille "Lucy" FrancoBorn Clara Lucille House on August 20th, 1942 in Goldsboro, No. Carolina. Moved to California in 1958. Married "The Man of her Dreams" Roy Franco, April 9th, 1983; 23 years wed. Succumbed to cancer, August 26th, 2006 at the age of 64, in San Jose, CA with Roy by her side.In addition to Roy and her beloved dogs, Muffin and Toby, Lucy leaves behind her cherished siblings Frances (Paul) Sanderford -Moncure, NC, Lois (Ken) Mehus -Fayetteville, NC and Albert House -Moncure, NC. Also survived by her father Julius House - Charlotte, NC ; stepfather S.R. Weatherford - Tennessee; son Merle Gene Isom and one granddaughter Kayle Isom of Colorado plus numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her mother Ethel Weatherford and brother Julius House Jr., both of Wayne County, No. Carolina.Lucy worked for over twenty years at Summit Uniforms of San Jose, CA., providing fitted uniforms to all governmental agency personnel; including, but not limited to every policeman, fireman, postal worker, park ranger and paramedic working in the Bay Area. She loved her work and all the wonderful friends she made along the way. Prior to Summit Uniforms, Lucy worked for the Hub of Oakland, doing similar type work.A warm, wonderful, generous woman who was a whiz in the kitchen, a gracious hostess and loved being in her garden. She had a beautiful smile, loved a good joke, had a great sense of humor and possessed the most infectious laugh ever heard. Devoted to her family, loyal to her friends, dependable and trustworthy, Lucy will be missed by all those fortunate enough to have known her.There will be a viewing and prayers at the Chapel of Flowers, 900 South 2nd, San Jose, CA., Thursday, August 31, 2006 between 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with speakers welcomed between 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Lucy will than take her final journey home and be laid to rest at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lucy's name to the Humane Society of Santa Clara, Lafayette Street, Santa Clara, CA or your favorite charity.
