Marceen Ellen Way

Marceen Ellen Way March 9, 1951 - March 29, 2005 Marceen Way died at her home in Modesto on March 29 after an extended illness. Marceen had been a long-time resident of Santa Clara. She had recently moved back to the area from Kauai, Hawaii, where she had lived from 2000 to 2003. Marceen moved to Modesto in March to be closer to her family during her illness. Marceen received her Associate of Arts degree from Evergreen Junior College and her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from California State University, San Jose. She had worked as a Registered Nurse at Santa Clara Kaiser Hospital in the Intensive Care Nursery for over 20 years. She was an active member of the California Nurses Association, the National Assoc. of Neo-natal Nurses, and a past member of the Hawaii Nurses Association. She is survived by her life partner, James Walker; her brother Bruce E. Way of Hughson, Calif.; her daughters Sarah Watkins Carson of Cincinnati, Ohio and Azsane Way of Hughson, Calif.; her sons Tevis J. Payne of San Jose, Calif. and Caleb E. Payne of Atwater, Calif. and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Edwin H. and Mary Dolores Way. A Memorial Service will be held in San Jose at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, at the Chapel of Flowers, 900 S. Second St., San Jose.
