Marion Louise HillFeb. 18, 1938 - Aug. 28, 2014San JoseMarion Louise Hill passed away peacefully last Thursday following complications from surgery. A long-time resident of San Jose, she touched many lives with her gentle and kind spirit and positive outlook on life. Marion was born to Charles and Helen Harmon in Los Angeles, CA. She graduated from Hoover High School in Glendale, CA and attended Glendale Community College where she met her husband, John Hill. They were married in 1958 and their three children – Brian, Jeff and Sherilyn – followed shortly. The Hill family moved to the Cambrian Park area of San Jose in 1971. As a parent, Marion was very involved in her children's education and activities. She was extremely proud that all of her kids graduated from college.Marion enjoyed a 30-year career with the San Jose Unified School District and was extremely active in many groups and organizations including AVS and Al-Anon. She was a member of the Almaden Valley Athletic Club (AVAC) for over 25 years and loved traveling.Marion is survived by her loving and devoted children Brian Hill (Vivian) of Charlotte, NC and Sherilyn Hill of Clifton Park, NY; grandchildren Nicholas and Danielle Hill; and brother Bob Harmon of Placerville, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, John and her son, Jeff.Family and friends are invited to attend Marion's memorial service on Friday, September 5th at 1:30 at St. Timothy's Church, 5100 Camden Avenue, San Jose. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations go to the Ronald McDonald House or a charity of choice.
