Melecio N. Gonzalez

Melecio N Gonzalez Born on February 12, 1929 in Atotonilco, Zacatecas, Mexico. Beloved husband of Maria de le Luz Gonzalez , caring father of Maria Cruz, Melecio, Arturo and Erica. A kind and gentle grandfather to eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Brother of 9. Uncle of numerous nephews and nieces. At the age of 17, Melecio immigrated to the United States in search of the American dream. In the 1950s, Melecio decided to settle in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1963, Melecio moved to San Jose, California where he called home for the remainder of his life. Through hard work, integrity, and perseverance, he achieved the dream he sought. Melecio passed away on Sept 7, 2008 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was 79 years old. His life was dedicated to family and friends. Family and friends are invited to services. Vigil at 7pm on Wednesday, September 10 at Chapel of Flowers, 900 South 2nd Street, San Jose. Funeral Mass on Thursday, September 11 at Guadalupe Church at 10am followed by burial at Oak Hill.
