Michael Anthony RiveraOct. 25, 1924-Dec. 11, 2015Resident San JoseMichael Anthony Rivera passed away peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2015 in Santa Clara, CA at the age of 91. He was born on October 25, 1924 in Stockton, CA. Michael graduated from Santa Clara High School and received his B.A. from San Jose State University, his M.A. from Stanford University and his PhD from USC. He was a proud veteran and a life-long educator. He taught Spanish and Art at Woodrow Wilson Junior High and retired as the Ombudsman at West Valley College. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dora Rivera and his children, Priscilla Cramer, Norma Rivera and Robert Rivera and their spouses; and his grandchildren, Lori Lasky, Rea Pifferini, Myles Rivera-Flam, Michael Rivera, Savannah Rivera and great grandchildren, Kelly Lasky, Isabella Pifferini and Alexandra Pifferini. He was loved by his family and his words of wisdom will be missed by all.A Mass will held on December 19, 2015 at 10:30AM at Holy Spirit Church, 1200 Redmond Ave. San Jose, CA.
