FAERBER (nee Bourke)-- San Jose CA, June 6, 2002 at her residence, peacefully. Philomena Maria beloved wife of Randall. Sadly missed her husband, by her sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, relatives and by her many friends and neighbors. May she Rest in Peace.Born September 12, 1931 in County Tipperary, Ireland, daughter of George and Josephine Bourke, Philomena spent all her life caring for the sick, working as a nurse successively in England, Ireland, Canada and finally in California where she spent the last 20 years of her career at the Good Samaritan Hospital, San Jose.Her dedication to the care of the sick continued into her retirement when, quietly and discreetly, she was always available to help neighbors and friends who needed the benefit of her long experience as a nurse. To many of them she was a splendid example of the bibical Good Samaritan. The family will be forever grateful to the doctors, nurses and ancillary medical staff who helped Philomena in her final battle with cancer. The support shown by present and past neighbors is very much appreciated. Ar dheis De go raibh a h-anaim. May her Soul rest on the Right Hand of the Lord.Visitation will be held Sunday June 9, 2002 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. concluding with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at the CHAPEL OF THE FLOWERS, 900 South Second Street, San Jose. Funeral Monday June 10, 2002 after 11:00 a.m. Mass at the Church of Santa Teresa, 794 Calero Avenue, San Jose, CA and afterward at Irvington Memorial Crematorium, 4001 Chapel Way, Fremont. Her ashes will later be laid to rest in Ireland.
