Placida De WittResident of San Jose Sept. 2, 1916 - June 9, 2011Placida "Pat" De Witt, born in Ontario, CA raised in Silicon Valley area was a wonderful mother, sister and wife to her large family. Born the first of many children, she raised her own 3 children to embrace life and strive to succeed. Pat was a passionate ambassador for volunteering and selflessly served over 40,000 hours of community service including as President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Purple Heart. She was truly committed to our veterans and was often seen at the VA in San Jose and Palo Alto serving coffee, helping drive or just sitting and chatting. Pat was a devout Catholic, a housewife who was able to put thought into action. She was greatly loved and respected by all who knew her. Pre-deceased by her husband Frank and son Gilbert. Survived by her children Bob and Virginia. Grandchildren Michael, Annette, Jennifer, Christine, Steve, Greg, Debbie, George Jr., Lisa and their spouses. Great Grandchildren Jim, Emily, Kathleen, Jeffrey, Kristen, Cortney, Monique, Akailin, Caitlynn, Brian, Stephanie, Hunter and Madison.Viewing 3PM - 6PM and rosary, 6PM - 7PM will be held on Wednesday, June 15th at Chapel of the Flowers 900 S 2nd Street San Jose. A reception will be held following Interment at National Cemetery in Santa Nella on Thursday at 4PM details given at Rosary. In Lieu of flowers please send donations to the San Jose Veteran's Affairs.
