A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army in England, France & Germany and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, TWX WD 45 Good Conduct medal and the European, African, Middle Eastern Campaign Medal. Ramon was born on January 28, 1923 in Cuidad Juarez, Chihuahua Mexico to his parents Jesus Rodriguez and Emilia Orozco Rodriguez. He had five siblings Rafael, Anne, Mary, Maria and Jesus. Ramon graduated from Weed, Highschool in 1941. He then left for LA and settled in Madera with his family where he met his future bride, Lola. He worked in San Francisco in the Ship Yards until he was drafted into the Army. Ramon served in the Army from to 1943 to 1946. Ramon eventually followed Lola to San Jose, CA where he became a plasterer by trade. He married Lola Zapien Rodriguez and had 3 children.Ramon is survived by his children, Raymond Rodriguez, Linda Interiano and John Rodriguez; his 7 grandchildren; his 5 great-grandchildren; and his 5 siblings. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lola Zapien Rodriguez. He will be remembered for his charm, quick witted humor and his love for a cold beer.A viewing is scheduled at the Chapel of Flowers in San Jose on January 5th from 7-9pm.
