Robert Edward Banks

Robert Edward Banks III Age 70, the beloved husband of Joyce Alma Banks passed away July 7, 2004. He was born July 4, 1934 in Richmond, Virginia and lived the last forty-two years in San Jose, California. Robert's professional career began in the United States Air Force, and continued with the Federal Aviation Administration. During that time he served as a member of the Alum Rock School Board. He was a faithful member of Foothill Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder. Robert was married for 50 years to the love of his life Joyce Alma Thompson. He was a devoted father to Robert IV, Rene, her husband Martin, Roxie, her husband LeRoy, Rochelle, her husband Darrell and Robin, her husband DeWayne. He was Bumpa to 18 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Quiet hour will be held Monday, July 12, 2004 at CHAPEL OF FLOWERS Funeral Home, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; there will be a private funeral service July 13, 2004 at the Chapel of Flowers beginning at 11:00 a.m. A Memorial service will be held July 14, 2004 at Foothill Presbyterian Church beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Benjamin Daniel officiating. Memorial contributions in Robert Edward Banks III honor may be sent to The American Cancer Society.
