Beloved mother of Barbara Campisi and mother in law of Richard S Campisi. Adoring grandmother of Michelle Barsanti (Michael), Christian Campisi (Anna), Richard Gregory Campisi (Elizabeth) and great grandmother of Gregory and Jennifer Barsanti, Carolyn and Gabriella Campisi and Richard Gregory Campisi II. Rose who was born in San Jose, California on May 19, 1905, she was an amazing woman filled with determination and faith. She could run a business, keep an ideal home, cook and execute a perfect dinner party and develop a beautiful garden that would keep her home filled with fresh cut flowers almost the year round. All the while watching to see whom she could help physically, financially or spiritually which she did her entire life.Rose studied the piano for 12 years and enjoyed accompanying her family and friends in song.In December 1912 Rose and her mother (Margherita Piretta Gaiotto) had tickets to return from Europe on the maiden voyage of the Titanic and gave them up to remain in Europe longer. They later returned to the United States on the Lusitania, which was also presumed lost at sea because of engine and radio failure. She was the head bookkeeper for Harts Department store for 14 years.For 23 years she made hand made jeweled ornaments for the Valle Monte Jewel Christmas Tree.Her family and friends greatly grieve her loss, but are comforted by the gifts she instilled in us, love, compassion, selflessness, strength in spirit and a limitless energy for helping others. Her gifts to our family have truly set an example for all to follow. Honor, integrity, loyalty, and faith in Our Lord and The Blessed Mother was paramount in her life. She and her husband Gene, were long time members of the San Jose Country Club. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Camelite Monastery, 1000 Lincoln Street, Santa Clara. Arrangements by Chapel of Flowers, 900 S. Second St. San Jose.In lieu of flowers, masses or donations may be made to the Carmelite Monastery.
