DETWILER, Royce 'Dale' -- 12 July 1927 - 14 March 2003. Born in Oklahoma City, OK to Albert and Alice (Hufstutler) Detwiler. A Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Married Louise Bennett on 29 May 1955. Two children: Susan Detwiler of Anchorage, AK and Nancy (Kevin) Bedel of Crothersville, IN. A professional Electrical Engineer, avid pilot and outdoors enthusiast. Member of AOPA, Santa Clara County Airman's Association, North Valley Toastmasters, National Society of Profession Engineers, Board of Directors of Santa Clara Valley Chapter of the California Society of Professional Engineers, Engineers Club of Santa Clara Valley, League of Women Voters, Radio Club of America, Amateur Radio operator (W6SXo), Berryessa Citizens Advisory Committee and a member of various other organizations related to flying, boating and communication engineering. Dale's goal was to make his adopted community a better place for all. A Celebration of his Life will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at CHAPEL OF FLOWERS, 900 S. 2nd Street, San Jose. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in the memory of Dale to the WIngs of History, P.O. Box 495, San Martin, CA 95046.
