UntitledTimothy Mark HoefelTim was born in Modesto, California on December 23, 1949 and passed away with his family by his side in Palo Alto, California on Wednesday May 3, 2006. He leaves those who will always love and remember him, five offspring, Timothy John (deceased), Tracy Louise, Tamra Marie, Ricky Robert, Alexi Ann; four brothers, Steve Hoefel, Ron Jones, Ken Jones, Brian Jones (deceased), and two sisters, Susan Haynes, husband Richard and Denise Covington, husband Robert; parents, Betty and Robert Devore; father Jack Hoefel (deceased); first wife Becci Hoefel (deceased) and second wife LaVonne Hoefel; many nieces and nephews and many, many friends.Tim attended Merced (California) High School and Ygnacio Valley High School in Concord, California. He was a master mechanic and a skilled carpenter. His country called him in 1968 and although not enamored of going off to a foreign country to fight a war he nevertheless went to South Vietnam as a member of the famed 101st Airborne Division and spent a year in the jungle. He would never discuss it and would deny it if mentioned but he won medals and was a hero and will always be a hero to those he leaves behind. San Jose was his home for the last 35 years.Inurnment will be at the San Joaquin National Cemetery at Santa Nella on Friday May 12, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. Services will be held at Chapel of the Flowers at 900 S. 2nd Street (corner of Martha St.), San Jose, CA 95112 on Tuesday, May 9 at 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Tim's Life will be held after the Services. Contributions can be made in Tim's name to the American Cancer Society.
