VICTOR VALDEZ

Victor Soriano Valdez, a cherished resident of Morgan Hill, gracefully departed from this world on February 8, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on March 6, 1939, to Jesse Soriano Trujillo and Leocadio B. Valdez in La Verne, California, Victor’s journey was one marked by dedication, love, and an insatiable curiosity about the world around him.

After earning his high school diploma, Victor embarked on a fulfilling career that began in the bustling bakeries of San Francisco. His talents soon led him to the world of construction with California Drywall. In the late 1970s, Victor made a transformative move to Morgan Hill, where he found his true calling as a school bus driver for the Morgan Hill Unified School District, a role he embraced with passion for over three decades.

In 1953, fate introduced Victor to his neighbor Margarita, who would become the love of his life. The couple wed on June 15, 1957, and together they nurtured a beautiful family, welcoming six children into their lives: David, Victor, Louise, JoAnn, Diane, and Denise. Though he faced the heartache of losing his son David, Victor's spirit remained steadfast, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife and children.

In 2006, Victor retired from his long service at the school district, paving the way for a well-deserved respite filled with gardening, a passion that brought him immense joy. His garden flourished with vibrant flowers and bountiful vegetables, a testament to his green thumb and dedication to nurturing life. When not tending to his plants, he could often be found in the yard with his beloved dogs, Max and Raider, or delighting in the thrill of sports and family gatherings.

Victor's legacy is enriched by his love for his family and his engaging spirit. He cherished meaningful conversations with his son-in-laws, remained informed about the world through news broadcasts, and enjoyed entertaining and questioning his grandchildren. The weekends were a sacred time for him to relax at home, sharing laughter and warmth with his family.

He leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love and heartfelt memories. Survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Margarita, his children Victor, Louise, JoAnn, Diane, and Denise, along with his cherished grandkids Margarita (Tita), David, Andrew, and Daniella, Victor was a beloved Father-in-law to Sara, Luis, Onesimo, and Alfredo/Freddo. He is also survived by his brother Frank, sister Martha, and many nieces and nephews whose lives he touched.

Victor Soriano Valdez, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was admired for his kindness and wisdom. He will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends, a radiant light guiding their path.
