With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Virginia Sanchez Batestin, a beloved
wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was born on June 25, 1952,
to Franco Gutierrez and Christina Sanchez.
Virginia was the devoted wife of Alexander De la Llana Batestin and a caring mother
to four daughters: Tonilyn, Andrea, Alexandra, and Michelle. She was also a doting
grandmother to Lorraine, Audrey, Zoe, Kai, and Zephy. She shared a close bond with
her surviving siblings Clarita, Ricardo, Conrado, Trinidad, and Lolita.
Virginia formed lifelong bonds, especially with her two closest friends, Bernadette and
Cora, who stood by her side through the highs and lows of life.
Virginia studied at La Consolacion College and pursued her Bachelor of Science in
Psychology at Far Eastern University (FEU). Virginia was not only an active student but
also served as Vice President of Delta Pi Omicron in the FEU chapter, where she met
her sisters and brothers who remained close to her until the very end.
Virginia’s career journey was filled with hard work and dedication. She was the former
owner of Universal Flag and Moonlight Sing-along and Restaurant in the
Philippines. She also served as a Sales Manager of Casa Manila Philippines and
managed Kanda Cement as part of her work in construction materials. For a short time,
she worked as an Activity Assistant at Pilgrim Haven, bringing joy to the lives of
seniors.
Her talents extended beyond business. Virginia had a passion for singing her favorite
song, "The Boulevard," dancing, and shopping. She was known for her thoughtful,
loving, and joyful personality, always leaving a positive impact on everyone she
encountered.
The most meaningful chapter of Virginia’s life began when she accepted Jesus Christ
as her Lord and Savior. This profound relationship with God brought her peace, hope,
and strength. She delighted in worship and prayer, relying on God’s grace to guide her
every step. Now, we find comfort knowing that she is rejoicing in heaven, free from
pain, and basking in the eternal love of the Lord.
Virginia’s legacy of love, faith, and joy will forever remain in the hearts of her family and
friends. Her life was a testimony of kindness, hard work, and unwavering faith.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." – 2 Timothy
